Providing flexibility while maintaining a high level of care.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a suitable choice for individuals experiencing moderate psychiatric symptoms who require additional support but can effectively manage their time outside of the program while ensuring their safety. IOP sessions are scheduled on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (excluding holidays), offering both morning (9:00 a.m.–12:15 p.m.) and afternoon (12:45 p.m.– 4:00 p.m.) options. The duration of the program varies for each participant.

This flexible schedule allows individuals to acquire and apply valuable skills within a supportive setting while facing the challenges of their daily lives. Many participants can maintain their work or school commitments while participating in IOP.

Upon admission, participants are matched with a psychiatrist and primary clinician who conducts comprehensive assessments, offers supportive counseling, and assists with aftercare planning. Typically, participants can expect to meet with their designated clinicians once a week to address their treatment needs.

Each treatment day includes three hours of therapy groups rooted in mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies, such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). Participants will learn techniques to enhance mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance, ultimately improving their day-to-day coping and symptom management.

Upon completing the program, most participants experience noticeable symptom improvement, gaining the stability and confidence to reintegrate into their daily lives, with continued support from established outpatient mental health providers. For those in need of establishing new providers, our treatment team will provide resources and guidance tailored to individual requirements.
